Camp

On Thursday the 29th of October year 4/5 went on camp. We went on camp with Mr. D, Mr. H, Mrs. R, Mrs. A, Mrs. Ar, Mrs.T, Mrs. S and Mr. M. We stayed one night. The place we went was Camp Goodenough in Bilambil, NSW.



First we went on the bus. On the bus we watched a movie called Peter Pan. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there.


When we got there we had to take our luggage down a big hill. When everyone was at the bottom of the hill the instructors told us their name and then told us which cabins we were in.



After that everyone got settled into their cabins, and then had a little bit of free time while the lunch duty group set up. Duty groups are when you either have to set the table or clear the table.



For lunch we had hamburgers. On the hamburgers there were meat patties, tomato, lettuce, beetroot and cheese. After lunch everyone had to wash up their own plate, and the lunch duty clean up group cleared the table.


After all of that everyone got ready for their first activity. My first activity was initiative games. My favorite initiative game was getting into a knot and trying to untangle it.


To play it you need at least 2 people. The everyone who is playing puts in their left hand and grabs hold of another person’s left hand, but not the person next to them. Then everyone puts their right hand in and then grabs hold of another person’s right hand, but not the person next to them. Now you have to try and untangle it.




After the initiative games everyone had a shower. There was a very very long line to get into the showers. Luckily I was one of the first people in the shower.



After everyone had had a shower the dinner duty group prepared dinner. For dinner we had Lasagne and salad. For desert we had pancakes, ice cream and maple syrup.
After dinner everyone went into the hall. In the hall we had a talent show and a trivia night. First it was Mr. D’s questions. My team was called The H “N” Aiders. With Mr. D’s questions we didn’t do to wall. After Mr. D’s round we had some talent show acts. I did an act. My act was called The New Girl. It was about a girl who is new and the popular girls tease her. Next it was Mrs. R’s questions. We got all of them right. Then more talent show acts. Next was Mr. H’s question. We didn’t do to well on that either. Then more talent show acts. My team Won!!! After all of that everyone brushed their teeth then went to bed.




The next day the breakfast duty group set up and then served breakfast. For breakfast everyone had to have cereal before a hot breakfast. We had coco pops, crunchy nut, weet bix, rice bubbles, fruit, spreads, hash browns, bacon and spaghetti.



After breakfast everyone went to their activity. The activity I went to was flying fox. You had to get into a harness and then get chained to a buckle and then fly threw the sky. I thought it was Awesome.


After everyone had a go on the flying fox we had lunch. For lunch we had hotdogs. After lunch everyone got their bags, said goodbye and walked up the big hill, then loaded all of our stuff onto the bus. Then went home



I enjoyed everything we did and wished we could stay longer.
